Top 5 Family Activities at Bewl Water This Summer

With 800 acres of water and woodland, Bewl Water is built for a proper family day out. There is enough here to fill a whole day, whatever the ages and energy levels in your group. Here are five of our favourite things for families to do over the summer.

1. Take on the Aqua Park

Our Aqua Park is the star attraction: one of the UK’s largest Wibit floating inflatable obstacle courses, right out on the reservoir. Sessions last 50 minutes and cost £25 per person, or £80 for a family of four. The minimum age is 6, one adult can supervise up to three under-13s, and there are lifeguards on hand throughout. Bring a change of clothes and expect to get wet.

2. Get out on the water

If the obstacle course sounds a little wild for the youngest in the group, there are gentler ways onto the water. Try canoeing or stand-up paddleboarding, or hop aboard a pedalo and explore the bays at your own pace. It is a lovely way to see the reservoir from a different angle.

3. Cycle the reservoir

A traffic-free cycle route follows the water around the reservoir, with shorter family-friendly loops if 13 miles feels ambitious with little legs. It is one of the safest places in the area to let children build their confidence on two wheels.

4. Burn off energy on dry land

When everyone needs a break from the water, there is plenty to do on land:

• The adventure play area for climbing and clambering
• Indoor soft play for younger children and rainy spells
• A game of laser tag for older kids and competitive grown-ups

5. Walk a family-friendly trail

You do not have to tackle the full circuit to enjoy the trails. The three-mile Bewlbridge Loop is gentle and starts from the main car park, and the stretch from the car park to the Waterfront Café is suitable for pushchairs.
