Open Water Swimming
Saturday open water swimming on the reservoir, 9am to 10:30am. £8 for 90 minutes, supervised by qualified open water lifeguards.
About This Activity
Take to the open water in the beautiful surroundings of Bewl Water reservoir. Sessions run every Saturday from 9am to 10:30am and cost £8 for 90 minutes. The first swim of the 2026 season is on 11th April. Use code 'Firstswim20' at checkout for 20% off your first swim. Pre-booking is essential. All swimmers must arrive at least 10 minutes early to complete a 10-minute safety induction and safety questionnaire with our lifeguards. This requirement applies even if you have swum with us before. Wetsuits are mandatory for all participants while the water temperature is below 16°C. On-site showers are available and free parking is included during your swim session.
What to Bring
- Wetsuit (mandatory while water is below 16°C, bring your own)
- Brightly coloured swim hat (required, bring your own)
- Tow float (required for all swimmers): bring your own, or pre-book tow float hire on-site for £3 via the booking system
- Goggles
- Towel and warm clothes for after
- Proof of age (swimmers must be at least 14)
Safety Information
All sessions are supervised by fully qualified Open Water Swimming Lifeguards. Swimmers must be at least 14 years old and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Every swimmer must complete a 10-minute safety induction and safety questionnaire with the lifeguards before each session. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to allow time for this. The induction is required even if you have taken part in open water swimming with us before.
