A Perfect Bewl Wedding

Where did you both first meet?

Sankey’s

When did you meet?

September 2013

Where did the proposal take place?

Daniel proposed on a dog walk at Bewl. We were sitting on a bench by the waters edge. You can see the bench in the back ground of some of our wedding pictures!

What was the song for your first dance and why?

Unchained Melody by Lykke Li, it sounds quite different from the original and we just really liked it.

What made you choice Bewl Water as your venue?

It’s where we got engaged so I rang Bewl to see if we could have our reception there.

Did you look at many venues in your search?

If so, how did you narrow it down? My heart was set on Bewl, I did contact a couple of other venues but when Bewl said they would host our reception I knew that was the place!

What was  the most fun part of your wedding to organise?

Oooh soo many! I really wanted to enjoy wedding planning so I tried to concentrate on things I like to do. I made Jam and chutney for favours and I made the bouquets and venue flowers with help from friends and family.

Bewl also took my Dad and I out on a speed boat a couple of days before the wedding to choose a route for our boat trip and to find the best photo spots!

What was the most memorable event on your big day?

Daniel organised a vintage car to pick me up which was a total surprise! The feeling of driving to Bewl in the classic car with the top down with my husband was just magical!

How would you describe the style of your wedding day?

I tried to keep it stress free and not to overthink it to much. I’m not usually a very organised, planning kind of person so I knew I wanted to keep it relaxed.

We wanted a fun party vibe! I tried to do as much as possible myself or my friends and family helped out. My bridesmaid Lou made our wedding cake.

Where did you head off to on your honeymoon?

We went to Rhodes, Greece. We both love the Greek islands and it ticked all the boxes.

What piece of advice would you give to future bridge and grooms?

It sounds cliche but I would say you need to enjoy every moment! It was so much fun spending time with friends & family on the lead up to the day. Don’t  sweat the small stuff as nobody really notices if you’ve forgotten something or if something doesn’t quite match. It is very easy to get carried away with big ideas but don’t overthink it!!  Get a good note pad!
