Bart's Bash is held in memory of Andrew 'Bart' Simpson MBE, a double Olympic medallist who tragically lost his life whilst training for the Americas Cup in 2013. In honour of his life, achievements and contribution to sailing, the Andrew Simpson Foundation was set up to promote and facilitate sailing, especially amongst young people.
Bart's Bash was founded in 2014 and was verified By Guinness World Record as The Largest Sailing Race in the World.
The funds raised via Bart's Bash have already helped thousands of young people access regular sailing sessions who otherwise would not have been able to. The more funds we can raise together, the bigger the difference we can make in helping the next generation.
