Take the healthy path to fun and relaxation at Bewl Water
There are plenty of ways to explore Bewl Water and the surrounding countryside, but none as serene as a walk. From gentle strolls with the grandchildren to adventurous family walks or longer rambles with the dog, Bewl Water offers instant access to beautiful, healthy walks for everyone to enjoy.
Our 12 ½ mile scenic route is open to walkers all year round and follows a collection of forest paths, country lanes and all weather surfaces. Walking the whole route will take approximately six hours and it is recommended that participants are fit and healthy and carry food, water and a mobile phone. There is a section suitable for wheelchairs with wide tyres to Seven Pound Creek Jetty and to Hatherells Jetty. Maps showing the walking and cycling routes and water taxi set down points are available for £1 each.
If you're bringing your dog to Bewl Water, please make sure you have read our dog walking guidelines.
The well-maintained paths around the lake are suitable for most abilities, but if you simply can’t go any further you can hop aboard a Water Taxi and do the rest of the journey in style!
For those looking to organise a sponsored walk around the reservoir, please read our Sponsored Walk FAQs.
