Winter Watersports Memberships run from October – April and all membership fees and storage costs are priced on a pro-rata basis from the full annual membership fee with a minimum term of 3 months required.

Sailing at Bewl Water can be enjoyed 7 days a week in all seasons. You can join on an annual or day membership basis to enjoy the largest inland water in the South.

Sailing Dinghies and windsurfers of all classes are welcome, from toppers to Flying fifteens and multi hulls.

We are home to racers and leisure sailors with regular social sails and weekly racing in conjunction with the Bewl Sailing Association.

In order to sail at Bewl Water we require a membership form to be filled out, competency to an RYA Level 2 standard, proof of insurance and for you to sign on and off the water in the office.

Please follow the below process to ensure that your membership is dealt with in a timely manner:

  • Fill out the appropriate form.
  • Visit the Bewl Water fishing shop between 9am and 12pm on a Saturday or Sunday with the form and payment details where Phil or Nick will be able to arrange your membership.
  • They will give you your new car pass and boat sticker which can be used straight away. Please affix the sticker to your transom or other visible location on the stern.
  • Payments can be taken in the form of a credit/debit card payment, cheque (made payable to Salomons UK ltd.) or cash.
  • Don’t forget to provide us with your updated insurance certificate.

Saturday and Wednesday Patrol Boat

Bewl Sailing Association is pleased to announce that it will be operating a patrol boat at Bewl Water this summer, from 6th June to 25th August 2018.

Session times are:

  • Wednesday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00 or half an hour before sunset
  • Saturday afternoons from 12:00 to 16:00

Our patrol boat helms and crews will carry VHF radios and act as eyes-on-the-water. They may provide assistance so, if you'd like to take advantage of this support, you just need to stay within sight of the orange commando.

The site owners Bewl Water are responsible for safety on the water and all sailors must adhere to their Rules and Regulations, as published on their website https://www.bewlwater.co.uk/water-sports/

Oppies at Bewl Water

We are actively growing a group of young sailors from beginners to advanced racers.

Our philosophy is to give children from both sailing and non-sailing families the opportunity to develop a love of sailing within a friendship group that starts from beginners and evolves into a team that helps and supports each other at events on the National circuit. The team includes boys and girls from 8 to 15 ranging in standard from beginners to children in the UK National Squad. They are supported by qualified instructors and coaches competing at an International level and for those that don’t yet have their own boat we also have a limited supply of boats for hire.

If you’re interested in learning more about what we’re doing please visit our website www.bbsc.org.uk or contact Will (07976 886687) or Richard (07710 148359)
