A milestone has been reached this season in the re-introduction of home-reared brown trout to Bewl Water with the first of these stocked on 6th July from Bewl's own farm. The fish have made rapid growth in spring and early summer and approximately 400 brownies up to 2lbs have been be stocked at several points of the lake. Bewl Ranger James Garratt is delighted with the progress these fish have made and is also pleased that the farm is progressing well with its project of rearing indigenous brown trout, the progeny of fish caught in the feeder streams last winter, for re-stocking. Some of the regular rods reported mayfly nymphs and adults just above Browns inlet with some trout having them in their stomach contents. Each boat engine has a red ‘Kill Cord’ located on the front panel. One end of this has a plastic fork which must be inserted beneath the red button for the engine to run while the other end should be worn around wrist or clipped to a firm point on your clothing whenever the boat is underway. In the event of you falling from the boat while underway the cord will pull the fork from the red button stopping the engine. This will ensure that the boat remains close to you as well as preventing the uncontrolled boat from injuring you or others. PLEASE USE THE CORD WHENEVER YOU USE THE BOAT ENGINE BUT ENSURE THAT IT IS LEFT ATTACHED TO ENGINE AFTER USE •♦•♦•♦•♦• Early Morning Permits Water Temperature 15degC
