Information for Dog Walkers
Dog Walkers using Bewl Water are requested to follow these guidelines:
- Dogs must be under control at all times. If dogs are obedient and will not interfere with wildlife or the enjoyment of other users then they may be exercised off the lead
- Dogs must not be allowed to chase or disturb wildlife
- Dogs must be kept clear of anglers engaged in fishing
- Dogs are allowed on the Round Reservoir walk but must be kept to heel or on the lead on the part of the route that passes through the Nature Reserve
- Dogs must be kept out of the water at all times
- Dog owners must prevent their animals from drinking water where an algal bloom is present. Although green and blue green algaes have been in water for millions of years, they can produce toxins that may be fatal to dogs when ingested
- Dog excrement must be cleared immediately and removed from the site by the person responsible for the dog
- With the exception of Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs, dogs are not allowed in the following areas:
· The visitor centre or other buildings
. The grass slope and picnic area below the visitor centre
· The children’s playground
· The water users’ areas and beach around the clubhouse
